Poll: 70% Of Readers Manage Search With An In-House Specialist

In September, we polled Clickable customers and readers: “Who manages your company's search and pay-per-click advertising campaigns?” The results of our unscientific poll are in: 70% in-house specialist; 18% freelance consultant; 6% agency and 6% nobody. That resonates with our customer mix, where many direct advertisers find value in the Clickable solution to manage search in-house, often because their monthly spend is too small for an agency to manage profitably. Conversely, many agencies and consultants like Clickable because it drives profitability by growing margins, staff efficiency and capacity to serve more clients. Predictable, performance-based technology costs enable agencies to capture new market share from smaller clients, historically unprofitable under traditional agency cost structures.
