Poll: Search, PPC Expected To Be Most Popular Form Of Online Advertising Among Our Readers in 2009

In October, we polled Clickable customers, newsletter subscribers and blog readers:

“Which of the following types of online advertising do you use, or plan to use in the next 12 months?”

The results of our unscientific poll are in, and search is number-one! That resonates with our readership, which includes many small and midsize businesses, more oriented toward performance-based marketing. And for all the continued hype around mobile and video advertising, it looks like 2009 will, again, not be their breakout year.

  • 44% Search or Pay Per Click
  • 24% Display Advertising
  • 22% User-Generated Content and Social Media
  • 6% Mobile
  • 4% Digital Video
