Making Bulk Percentage Bid Adjustments Across Accounts in a Few Simple Steps (Tool Tip)

Clickable’s ActEngine is always looking for ways to make your search marketing campaigns more successful. This often means providing recommendations about your bids and budgets: we might suggest that you bid less on an ineffective keyword, invest more heavily in a high-performing campaign, or set revenue goals in order to track success more effectively. However, there is one thing that the ActEngine can’t do: take the place of your business expertise. Our goal is to be your “trusted advisor” in search marketing, but there will often be times when you need to make adjustments to your campaign based on factors unique to your business rather than an analysis of your PPC performance.
Let’s say that you’re launching a new feature on your site, and you want to invest more in keywords related to that feature. Clickable provides a tool to help you make that bid adjustment in a few simple steps: the Keyword Filter and Bulk Edit Tool.

You can launch the tool by clicking on the “KEYWORD FILTER & BULK EDIT” button at the upper-right of any Manage page.

Once you launch the tool, you’ll see a running list of all of your keywords across all of the search networks. For our example, we’ll say that Clickable wants to promote a new feature related to “keyword bid management,” so I’ll filter to the relevant terms by entering part of that string in the field above “Keyword” …

clicking on the “FILTER” button at the upper-right,

and seeing the new, filtered list.

Now, I can increase my bids on these keywords very simply. Just click on the checkbox at the top-right to select all of the keywords

then click on the “SET BID (MAX CPC)” button.

This launches a new window that allows you to either set your keywords to a specific amount, or to increase or decrease them all by a specific percentage. Because my three keywords have different values, I don’t want to set them all to a specific bid. Instead, I’ll select the radio button for “Change the current bid by a percentage value” and enter “15” to increase my bids on the selected keywords by 15%. (You can also decrease your bids by entering a negative value.)

Once I click “SAVE!” I go back to the list and I can see my new bids on those keywords. (The green and white status bar means that the change is pending and will be taking effect within a few minutes.)
