Building Custom Metrics for Off-Line Analysis (Tool Tip)

As Vernon announced last week, we've just released Clickable Pro version 2.1, a major upgrade that includes automated bid management, customized reporting, and other exciting features. Over the next few weeks, we'll discuss a number of different ways that you can use these new tools to make your search marketing effort simpler and more profitable. Today, I'd like to introduce a feature built into our new "Report" section: Custom Metrics.

Clickable Pro's new "Report" capabilities allow you to create custom, white-labeled reports with a simple drag-and-drop interface. We've also made it easier for you to download your account's data into Excel for off-line analysis. This is the first option you'll see in the "Excel Reports" section of the "Report Tab"; it's called the "Account Peformance Report." You can select up to three accounts to include in the report, and there are a number of standard metrics you can see for every entity in your accounts, from "Impressions" to Return on Ad Spend ("ROAS"). (You can easily include all of these standard metrics by checking the "Select All" checkbox at the top).

One of the first things you might do once you've exported your data to Excel is to add another column for a metric that isn't available in our standard report, but is still important to your business. To simplify things going forward, we've given you the option to create your own custom metrics within the Report section.

At the bottom of the Account Performance Report is our Custom Metrics builder. Let's say that you want to look at Return on Investment (ROI), as well as Return on Ad Spend (ROAS). The latter is included in the list of standard metrics, but ROI is not. You can easily create this metric by entering a name ("ROI"), and inputing the algorithm ("Revenue/Cost"). (There are details on using the Custom Metrics interface in our Product Guide.)

Once you build a metric, it will always be available in the "Custom Metrics" section below the list of standard metrics. Just check the box beside the metric anytime you want to include it in your report, or click "edit" to modify the algorithm, or click "delete" to remove it from the list.  For help building your Custom Metrics, or if you have any other questions, please contact Clickable Support.
