Last week, I introduced a new column that is now available in the Keyword Filter and Bulk Edit tool: “Last Modified Date,” which makes it easy to distinguish keyword performance before and after the most recent bid adjustment. As I mentioned at the end of that Tool Tip, another new field is also available: “Recommendations.” You can now review and take action on numerous ActEngine(TM) recommendations directly in the Keyword Filter tool.

A New Column in the Bulk Edit Tool For Recommendations
“Recommendations” is the first field that appears by default in the “optional columns” section of the Keyword Filter tool, just to the right of the keyword name. In this field you will find details on numerous bid-related recommendations, such as “Increase Keyword Bid” or “Reactivate Keyword.” The column will always display the new recommended bid, and, by default, the “Max CPC” column displaying your current bid will be directly to the right.

For more details about a recommendation, click on it. The row will expand and show you the historical data used to generate the recommendation, as well as the performance change the ActEngine(TM) predicts if you accept it.

Acting On a Recommendation In The Bulk Edit Tool
To act on a recommendation, check the box for that keyword and click “ACCEPT” or “IGNORE” at the top of the tool. You can also act on recommendations in bulk: just filter to the keywords you want to manage, click on the checkbox in the top row to “select all,” and then click “ACCEPT” or “IGNORE.” Acting on recommendations works exactly the same way as it does in the Act Tab: once you’ve taken action, you won’t see the recommendation in the Act Grid any longer, but it will appear in your Act History.
