Creating Image Ads

Image ads are graphical ads that display on content websites in the Google Network. Images may be important to your marketing concept so image ads are an effective way to reach new prospects. Google can match page content and image ads that have a relationship.

Google accepts four image formats for image ads: GIF, JPG, PNG and SWF. All images need to be in one of eight possible layouts (all in pixels). Google may resize your image vertically by 11 or 22 pixels to include an Ads by Google link.  You can resize your images before you upload them. (The accepted resized image sizes are shown after the full sizes in parentheses):

·        Leaderboard: 728x90 (728x79)

·        Banner: 468x60 (468x49)

·        Square: 250x250 (250x239)

·        Medium Rectangle: 300x250 (300x239)

·        Small Square: 200x200 (200x189)

·        Skyscraper: 120x600 (120x578)

·        Wide Skyscraper: 160x600 (160x578)

·        Large Rectangle: 336x280 (336x269).

Animated image ads and ads with Flash animation are not resized in this manner. They should always be submitted in the full format size. The maximum file size for image ads is 50KB.

To create an image ad, click Browse to select the image file from your machine. Then, type a name for the image (up to 50 characters), a display URL (up the 35 characters) and a destination URL (up to 1024 characters). Once you have entered these fields, click Save! in the bottom right to create the ad. To cancel, click Cancel in the bottom left.
