Targeting and Bulk Editing Tools For Facebook Ads

In order to optimize your Facebook Ads campaigns, you need tools that can help you handle challenges like ad fatigue, audience saturation, and mismanaged bids and budgets. Today, I’d like to highlight improved optimization tools to drive more value from Clickable’s Facebook Advertising Suite.

To increase longevity of your Facebook campaigns, you must frequently review and adjust your bids, introduce new images and change ad copy. You must focus your efforts on keeping your message fresh to avoid ad fatigue.

If you are still spending a lot of time managing bids and budgets on your campaigns, then you should check out Clickable’s Social ActEngine. The Social ActEngine does the heavy lifting in managing your bids and budgets, so you can substantially improve CPAs over time with minimal effort. This helps you free up your time to refresh your messaging and introduce more ad variations.

Using our bulk ad editing tool, you can tag your URL's with tracking codes, replace images and change ad copy on up to 50 ads at once. It is as easy as selecting ads from the grid and launching the ad editor window.

This feature gives you flexibility to set customized day-parting schedules by increasing or decreasing the bids on selected ads -- either by a percentage amount or a constant dollar amount at any time of the day.

Second, we’ve added enhanced bulk-target editing which enables you to edit location and demographic parameters, such as age or gender. This is a powerful feature to manage your target library and each of your linked ads. You can append new parameters to existing sets, or just find and replace one with the other for up to 50 targets.

Third, you can now create a new target similar to an existing one by changing a few parameters and saving it as a new target. You will see a "Save As New" button on the edit screen for a target to take advantage of this feature.

More Targeting Options

We’ve added new targeting options available from Facebook, such as topic targeting and zip-code targeting for the U.S.

Topic targeting aggregates sets of overlapping interests into single topics (indicated by a hash sign), allowing advertisers to easily reach specific audiences, no matter how users have self-declared their interests. For example, prior to this update, you might have chosen multiple interests like baseball players and baseball teams in order to target baseball fans. But now you can select #Baseball, which would include all related interests under that single term.

Zip-code targeting lets you create specific targets for particular zip codes by using the appropriate option under location on the create target page.
