I typically use KeywordDiscovery or Wordze to help me with my keyword research. Understand that keyword research tools are helpful to the extent that they offer insight into the relative traffic levels. Keep in mind that a lot of search engine marketing managers use the same tools to generate their keyword lists, so you should also think outside the box and generate lists of keywords that are unique to your offering to drive traffic for keywords others may not be leveraging at this time.

There is also WordTracker to add to that list.

It would be a useful feature to add the API's offered by these third party companies to Clickable, making keyword research seamless.

Phil,

I agree, WordTracker has been an industry standard for years. Additionally, I encourage PPC marketers to leverage the Adwords keyword suggestion tool - in my opinion it is the best free keyword tool available.

Also, I recently wrote a "how to" explaining the keyword research benefits of both Google Squared and Google Sets. You might be surprised to see how effective both of these tools are in helping build a "wider" keyword list as well.
